If you live in the Northeast, then you probably haven't emerged from your house without getting soaked in the last couple days. I live in Boston and let me tell you, rain will NOT stop people from enjoying one of the city's greatest pastimes! It's been pouring for two days and there's been flooding, but the rain did not hamper the dedication and determination to show excitement for all things green (four leaf clovers, leprechauns, beer) as well as good-time Irish fanfare and food.
Below are some photos from yesterday in Boston. On the left, two people trudge through the Common to get to the parade and on the right, we see the decorative enthusiasm of parade watchers. I'm not sure if those garbage bags will be recycled, but they sure do look like they're getting the job done. Also, I wonder what happens to all the old St. Patty's gear. I would be great if it was re-used or saved for next year, I suspect most of it goes in the trash. (How do you feel about holiday themed items like the ones below?) It would be interesting to learn more about the life cycle of holiday themed party items.

Anyway, one thing we can truly enjoy is ORGANIC BEER! What could be better than a frosty glass of goodness--knowing it came from nurtured land? Organic Nation shows us how "Green" beer is made.
Do you have any crazy St. Patty's Day traditions? Know of any other great organic alternatives for the holiday? Please share!
