I think this is a great effort for just over a week of circulation... and there has been more awareness of our groups, our action, our artists and our art brought forward, this group has swelled greatly with membership in recent weeks... You can still contribute art as a gift image if you wish, send a URL of your activist piece to me in a bubblemail...

Promotional Materials & Street Teams...

A few people have decided to add our banner...

... in their profile pages...

when there is more time to focus on pretty graphics, I will be making a whole heap of graphics, gifs and things for us to spread around the net like a virus.... in the meantime though, please feel 100% free to take this graphic and promote it wherever the hell you can...

The idea of having Art Action Union Street Teams is one I have been floating around for ages now... it basically involves recruiting dedicated active members to take these promotional tools and materials, all the web URL's, emails and newsletters and whatever other promotion you need or want, and start actively going to other sites to spread the word, sending it to friends and handing out pamphlets in the street... maybe we can even make merch and fundraise for something significant one day... ahhh a dream... but one worth sending you all anyway... If you are interested in petitioning for the Union as an active outlet and network for creative activism... please add your name to this list in the forums.

Hi Kathleen, I think we have an obvious link between our work. We should collaborate for sure. Chekc out my site www.crescentcityartproject.webs.com or on changents. I just read your request for art and I am going to talk to my business partner D. and see if we can't send out a email blast here in New Orleans. Let's talk, Tim White

Hi Tim, Unfortunately the weblink you gave didn't work at this time, however I read your changents profile and am most interested in the work you are doing. The conditions do so sound like they need some colour! There are many ways that I am thinking off the top of my head that this could be a way of introducing young creative individuals to an instant audience. It is an audience that is diverse and creative and constructive. If you wish to discuss anything further with me, I can be contacted via email at: kaoskyane@yahoo.com The only limitation I can imagine with the way the network is set up at present is (we are very much starting out at the moment and am excited by the initial interest) that we are relying very heavily on the free gallery and forum space of redbubble.com. The space is free, practical and open and also displays NO external advertising. However, their user policy states that members must be 16 yrs and over... We can negotiate around this if you have younger children involved, by creating an account for you as a community group that is administered by an adult, the work can be uploaded there and commented on and viewed by the rest of the community, perhaps purchased. You could even raise money this way for a cause of your choosing. However, there would be a limit on discussion for minors in this webspace. Any work loaded to this group would then be syndicated in other "art action union places" with links back to the 'shop' for exposure and purchase. We can also launch little campaigns to specifically bring awareness to the audience of these children's individual stories. I am also looking into setting up lots of Art Action Union Shops in other print on demand web galleries, which will expand our reach further and also add to the products available. If the artists are under 16 however, I am sure we can figure out a way to get them involved and participating, to find ears and eyes... However, at this early stage in our growth (which wanes and wares as much as it boosts etc.) we need to rely on the audience we have, which is predominately at redbubble. Of course, with each project and campaign we undertake and throw out there, more people become aware and hopefully participate from time to time. All news is being syndicated further each time and the email list has begun to grow, the website has not officially launched yet (in fact it is very much beta) and with that we will also be throwing together a magazine, put together by a man from the group in Canada. Free publicity is always a struggle, and I don't make any promises about anything, because I am not a pr company... however... one thing is overwhelmingly clear to me and that if there is nothing else, the process of making and producing a piece of art that is born from a therapeutic or cleansing place, can work magic... but then having even 10 people to show it to, can be extra-nice. We also accept writing if that is more the mind of the creative, and one day, I may even incorporate music... oh the possibilities are only limited by time... :-) thanks so much for your interest Tim... I hope we can find a nice place. Kath
