If you’ve been a member of Changents for a little while, you probably know how much we admire Scott Harrison. In fact, maybe you noticed that last week we had a promo congratulating him and his org charity: water for winning $100K from Levi’s Go Forth contest!
Unless you’re familiar with Scott’s story and/or charity: water, you’re probably thinking: what the #%&$ is so great about Scott? We try not to play favorites at Changents, but we do love Scott for a very important reason: he was the INSPIRATION behind the entire venture!
[the beginning]
You’d have to ask Deron for all the details, but the story goes like this: Changents Founders Deron and Alex were bumming around a NYC restaurant one night years back. They noticed this dude (Scott) showing people pictures off of his laptop. The pictures were from his trip aboard Mercy Ships where he served the men, women, and children of Africa. (That’s how charity: water got started…read Scott’s amazing story for all the info). Deron and Alex were stunned at these pictures and at Scott’s dedication to making a positive change, and they started wondering:

How many people out there are working their butts off to create positive social and/or environmental change? Why isn’t there one place online where the world can go and learn about these people and connect with them? BOOM BABY, Changents was born.
