Hi aleighac426 & Cate! Wondering how that your speech went on world poverty. Did you two get in touch via email? I love my AP English class and I just think it's so cool that you had an assignment like that!

Hi Cate, I just got an account on this site today, and this is the first blog on here that I've looked at. Currently I attend Leadership & Entrepreneurship High School. In my AP English class I was given the task to give a speech on "world poverty." Though I have extensive volunteer history in working with the homeless, who are poor, that's only one type of poverty. The US is the richest nation in the world-"poverty" here would be wealthy to Casey, and the woman you wrote about who has to walk sixty minutes three times a day just to acquire a basic life necessity, that being water. I want to do my topic justice and bring awareness to this important social issue of world hunger. I would love to hear about your first-hand experience, anything you tell me would be fantastically helpful. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my comment, and I look forward to hearing back from you!
