Green Jobs Now!

On September 27, thousands of people will join the Green Jobs Now Day of Action to show that we're ready for a green economy. It'll be a tremendous day - hundreds of events are already planned around the country.

350.org is one of the partnering organizations on the day of action. We're thrilled to be taking part and helping out to spread the word and provide any advice we can. Last year, our team here at 350 ran a day of actoin called Step It Up 2007 that brought together over 1,400 communities to push for immediate climate action to get us at least 80% cuts in carbon dioxide by 2050. The day was a big success and we learned a lot (often the hard way) about what works and what doesn't. From our experience, it looks like the Green Jobs Now day is shaping up to be a big hit.

With 350.org, we hope to bring the Green Jobs message to people around the world. A clean energy economy can create good paying jobs, fighting pollution and poverty at the same time. It's important our leaders here in the USA know that we want to grow these new, green jobs not only here at home, but across the planet. As Van Jones, the founder of Green For All, the organization behind the day of action says, we want to make sure this green economy lifts all boats.
