Tim White Gustav nears the coast

Aug 27, 2008 09:20 pm

Tim WhiteThis week has been one of apprehension, anxiety and reality. I have lived in the gulf coast for well over a year now and it is only this week that I am starting to feel the tension of hurricane season. Last year was mild, only heavy rains. My life has been incredibly exciting lately with the planning of a 2,000 volunteer project in the midst, but w... Read More

ReverbHey hey people of the internet.  It's a hot day here in Pittsburgh. We had a day off yesterday, so Tucker and I went down to the venue early to see our friends on the John Mayer tour.  They sure do miss us... and we miss them. Did you see the photos Elliott shot down in Texas out on the tour?! You can find the album Read More

Hi Brad Thank you! Thank you for having the courage to make a difference and inspire others. You are quite wonderful. I would love to help get your story and that of the beautiful people you are helping out there and raise more awareness. I first heard of what you are doing through the new clip for Chris Daughtry's song - What About Now. Please contact me so that I may assist. Take care Brad, and all the very best. Warmest regards Belinda

Hey Scott What a great job your doing in Africa and around the world! At present I am working with our dedicated team of Kenyan Nationals in Northern Kenya. We are working with theTurkana people or as they call themselves the (Forgotten People). We have purchased a drilling rig and at present are completing our 5th well. I was hoping you could contact me about helping to raise awareness to the Turkana People and the Drilling Project! Thank you Dave

I was just reading your situation Robin, isn't that odd how the roll reverses like that. My friends, all of whom smoke, have no problem littering anything when I'm not around but when ever I'm around non of them will even toss a cigarette butt in front of me (which is a great thing) but I always get the "litter nazi" comments with the rolling of the eyes, like I'm some sort of bad guy cop or something, I love that they respect me and my ways enough to take action (when I'm around) but I hate the way they make it clear that I inconvenience them in some odd way for not throwing thier trash out of a car window or just directly onto the ground. I have found (1) as a way to get back at them for the "litter nazi" comments and (2) just because it's the right thing to do, for all of thier birthday's I do nothing more than get them nice BIG trashcans just for recycling for thier kitchens and when I visit I make a point to check on thier efforts. (if I get a nickname, I'll at least really earn it LOL)

many thanks for your comments, earthday 78. I live in a small (10 unit) coop, and after we put up a sign "Dear Neighbors, If you are enjoying a smoke, please don't forget an ashtray". Because there is only one smoker in the building, we were chastised via email by the entire building for "pointing a finger" at this smoker. Most say they think the butts are coming from the roof; I think it's impossible for a light cigarette butt to always land in the same two areas all the time, unless the person is nearby. Anyway, I'm hoping that this guy will stop now, which to my mind will only make it more clear that he was the one doing it. I'm trying to find information to verify that, but I don't know a physisist (don't even know how to spell it!). And I don't think anyone would believe it anyway since now he's the "good neighbor" and we are the "bad neighbors". Needless to say it's a very uncomfortable position to be in. thanks for listening.
