As I'm getting ready to start co-teaching a "Design Futures" class for Pratt in January, I thought I would share some interesting articles and posts I've recently come across about the "Design for Social Impact" sector or whatever you want to call it. As this field grows, so does the controversy around it. Check out this c... Continue reading Design Futures

Great job guys! I was really touched by Nates Boston story. The kindness of strangers has never ceased to amaze me, as I too have experienced this in my many travels. I am a bartender in East Troy, Wi, but have had many exciting and varied jobs in the past 20 years. I now have your back, so please let me know if there is anything I can do to help. By the way, I am an artist and am very handy with a sewing machine, so if you ever need advice or inspiration please email me. Keep looking forward, together change is possible!

The paper does make a strong argument for viewing design decisions as highly important supply chain decisions. As they put it, “the supply chain begins on the drawing board”. It couldn’t be more true than that. After the drawing board it is too late, well, not really, but it certainly takes a lot more effort. regards, Matt John ----- ----- ----- security+ braindump

If you had asked me several years ago if my Mom would know the names of the homeless folks in her town of Fremont, CA, I would have thought no...not MY Mom, but she has been helping to serve breakfast to this community for years and now is the main buyer, making sure the Tri-City Free Breakfast Program has what it needs every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to serve their delicious and nutritious meals. I am very proud of her! Is there any way we could talk to figure out a way to get your very cool backpacks into the hands of some of their clients? Looking forward to hearing from you! What an inspiration to read your story! Thanks for sharing!
