Michael Savage--and all that
I really hope that the recent diatribe by Talk Radio host Michael Savage is the peak of this anti-autism backlash that seems to be seizing so many people in the U.S. I can't imagine anyone being able to top him for ignorance, intolerance, cruelty or poor taste. His comments went way, way over the line and have infuriated those of us who live with children with autism--especially fathers.

While I am a staunch defender of freedom of speech, I really think his comments bordered on hate speech. I find his refusal to issue an apology pathetic. Still, I'd love to debate him, or better yet, have him over to dinner. Let him spend a few minutes in our shoes.
If I had my own talk show, I'd use it to FIGHT ignorance, not add to it. Who in their right mind hires people like this?
*sigh*
Anyone want to give me and Bruce a radio audition? Trust me, our show would be a lot more informative--not to mention funny!

Laura, you can have your own radio show...sort of. Use the audio blog feature here on Changents to create short podcast segments up to 5 minutes in length. Each post would be its own episode. Recording the podcast is just like leaving a voice mail so its pretty easy. Give it a try! Let Glenn Beck know what's on your mind...
