Swim For A Healthy World

Earlier this year, I dove into the freezing-cold, dirty Atlantic Ocean in Massachusetts, and began a 1000+ mile swim to Washington, DC. I am sampling the water at over 5,000 locations along my route to measure and map the effects of pollution and Climate Change, and working with over 50,000 schoolchildren on projects designed to improve the health of our ocean planet.

Christopher Swain Swim Day #33: Nantasket Beach--Finally.

Nov 13, 2009 08:56 am

It has been four months since I hopped into a Flagship Adventures RIB and headed out past the fish pier toward the Boston Harbor Islands.    When I picked up my trail off Georges Island, the water was nine degrees colder than it was last summer.      This time, I was determined to swim out and around Point Aller... WOW what an awesome thing to do ..it is people like you that give the rest of us hope that maybe just maybe the world has a chance :) thank you It takes people willing to do things in a big way like this to make an impact I own an organic farm and try hard to always do the right thing for the earth and air and water and that is great but people like you bringing light to our cause is what is needed :)

how inspiring! i have been feeling like nothing i do even matters. today i am going downtown and i plan to make a difference in my community. thank you for setting an example! i cannot stop pollution in our oceans, but i can help the homeless by volunteering at the soup kitchen. by teaching my kids to respect everyone they meet and giving of myself. i am blessed. my family is whole. we have enough food to eat and clothes to wear. blessed be, lauryndaw meridian ,idaho

Words cannot even describe how much I value what you are doing. I have always cared deeply about how we leave this planet for our future generations to come. I just decided to join the coast guard and am considering the marine science technician job aka " duck scrubbers" bc I want to enforce the laws and help keep our oceans clean. I would love to put our creative minds together and connect somehow.. I will be stationed in Wilmington NC.. as of next year. Positive energy and blessings your way.. keep up the awesome energy..and humanitarian effort! Peace in our oceans~ Stephanie Stewart "a voice"
