This is completely in line with the work we are doing in Africa. Chickens and their eggs have a huge impact on the malnutrition of children and chickens are relatively inexpensive to produce and feed. There is a Dutch group here in Kenya who is buying chickens for Children's Homes as a socially responsible donation and is having huge impact on the lives of these children. 1/3 of Kenya's children are malnourished and this is a common stat throughout the East Africa region. Proper nutrition directly affects their ability to learn. Simultaneously, there is a chicken shortage here in Kenya resulting in a price hike in both the per KG meat price and eggs. I love this project and really hope it is successful.
