The Future of Green - from those in the know - London speed presentation night

Sep 29, 2009 06:36 am

Hi everyone! Apologies once again for the silence - we've been busy sorting out the arrangements for Insider Trends' (http://www.insider-trends.com) new speed presentation night. The theme is the 'Future of Green' (http://www.insider-worldwide.com/trend-evening-green-futures/) and we think it should be really interesting to anyone keen and green.

If you're in London on the evening of Tuesday 27th October, you'll want to come along!

We've got a star-studded lineup of leaders from green businesses to give their take on the future of green in their industry:

  • Ed Gillespie, founder of Futerra, the ethical communications company
  • Sam Kimmins, sustainability adviser to Forum for the Future, a non-profit helping businesses and communities create sustainable and socially just futures
  • Sublime, the first international sustainable lifestyle magazine
  • Terra Plana, the award-winning ethical shoe company
  • Jess Tyrrell, Creative Producer and Founder of Germination, a live events company that uses cutting-edge technology to further social progress
  • Project Dirt, the online social network for people making change in their communities
  • Jonny Goldstone, founder of Green Tomato Cars, the taxi service for London and Sydney that uses Toyota Prius hybrid cars
  • The Hub, an innovative workspace concept spreading rapidly across the globe, connecting and supporting social entrepreneurs
  • Erica Grigg, leading sustainability social media consultant and Advocate of the British Council Low Carbon Futures

We're using a dynamic 'speed presentation' format, too: each of the 8 presentations will last no more than 8 minutes, and to keep things highly visual, no more than 5 words per slide are allowed. It means that 80% of the ideas in a normal presentation can be communicated in 20% of the time. The evening will be held at St Giles Cripplegate Church in Barbican, EC2. Further adding to the creative spirit, guests are invited to help reduce waste and bring their own reusable vessels for wine.
Inspiration and insight won’t just come from the presenting businesses either. Up to 250 keen, green thinkers and doers are expected to attend, so there’ll be food for thought in the conversations and networking, too.

Want to know more and book your ticket? Here are the details you need to know:
