Although I LOVE my job as a special ed TA, I have definitely missed having a daily work schedule that involves environmental issues. Luckily this winter I found a great way to keep the environment in my life, besides the day to day choices and the D2E Pitch the City contest.
What was that great find? Boston Cares TeamWorks! I joined the environmental team and decided to join again for the spring session. There are some really great opportunities for volunteering:
May 6th, 5:30-7pm:Stream and Woods Restoration at Allendale Woods with the Boston Parks and Rec Dept.
May 13th, 5pm-8pm: EarthWorks at Clapp Farm in Dorchester
May 30th 9am-12pm: Trail Work at Hemlock Gorge with the DCR
June 6th, 10am-12pm: Garden Clean-up at Shawmut Gardens in Dorchester
Try one out or look to get involved with Boston Cares! The have hundreds of individual volunteer opportunities as well as other TeamWorks that focus on themes like education, food supply and hunger, and community.

These look like very managable, bite-sized ways to get involved in environmental action! Thanks for posting them on Changents! I'll add them to our Facebook page event list as well.
