Fight pollution with pollution! With this self-sustaining solution to the number one littered item on the planet!! Cigarette Butts!!

With millions of dollars in damages a year, per city from storm drains and water treatment plants, to the undocumented deaths and destruction to our natural ecosystems.. I think it is time to make it a BIG DEAL about our ruthless and selfish behaviors to our disgusting habits of improper disposal of cigarette butts.

If you knew how many Pets go to the Vet, with high levels of toxins from eating just one or two of these, you might think twice about being unmoved by being surrounded by these things, in your every day lifestyle.

If a smoker has a choice whether or not he wants to risk themselves with the cancerous side effects of smoking, that is there choice.  Who gives non-smokers and natures creatures there right to not be affected by this reckless choice.  Every time someone litters a cigarette butt, they in a way take that right away.  If the filter is suppose to trap many of the thousands of chemical reactions that take place by burning cancer giving ingredients.  And then that person litters it.  These filters harbor toxins until they leach out into there surroundings.  Trillions of little transports of death disperse over time.

I would like to investigate the relationship of the different types of cancers and there numbers of infections to the invention of the filtered cigarette. Then think of the movie Erin Brocovich, about ground water pollution affecting surrounding residents..just think how many little doses of cancerous material everywhere do you need to have near your body till you get something from it? The cigarette filter was invented in 1954, and from 1950 to 1960 cancer more than doubled. Is it just coincidence that a product was invented that traps and stores toxins, and the habit to discard them everywhere along with impact to the cancers that it causes?

Responsible Smokers Act proposes to educate of the Environmental and Health impacts of disposing cancer causing substances. Littered in the trillions of butts a year,we need to combat habitual improper discarding of this byproduct.  A solution is to make collection stations with displayed education a key by making the collection bins out of Cellulose Acetate, the filter itself. If  a product is made from the litter itself to collect and  educate about the dangers of  mishandling  this environmental disaster, then many can see the big picture and this is perpetual reduction of litter and disease. I hope to make a self promoting self sustainable nonprofit to Reduce Reuse and Recycle cigarette butts to pave the way for a cleaner Earth
