Hey there internet folk.  Adam from Guster here. Normally right now is where I would say how glad we are that things are calming down after the insanity of our summer tours, but it's a little different this year...

Here in the Reverb office we're getting ready to hit the road with the Campus Consciousness Tour, this year featuring O.A.R.  CCT is a 13-date tour that is hitting college campuses all over the east (of the Mississippi) and will be touting some great environmental activities during the daytime.  We've got the Town Hall Forum set up where students and university staff can learn about a ton of really unique aspects of the environmental world - Oxfam America will be there repping their climate change campaign, and Climate Counts will be doing their thing on corporate environmental leadership and sustainability.  If you're in the area of any of our shows, stop by the Forum and you and a friend could win the Best Seats in the House!

The Campus Consciousness Tour was first launched by Reverb with the band Guster in 2006 and again rolled out in '07 with Guster.  Being both in Guster and the co-director of Reverb, it made a lot of sense.  This year, we're excited to have O.A.R. carry the tour to the next level.

Besides being one of the most popular bands on college campuses, the guys in O.A.R. have been interested in supporting the environment on a scale like this for a while.  They started their own greening program, "The Green Dream," this past summer which involved setting up recycling at each venue the band played.  There's also a bit of history between Reverb and the band--Reverb first worked with O.A.R. on their 2005 summer tour.

So yeah, stop on by the Consciousness Pavilion at one of our shows (tour dates below) and meet some of our awesome student campus groups, learn more about Oxfam and Climate Counts, and pick up a sample of chocolate Silk Soymilk and Clif bars - a delicious combo!

Hey, and I just wanted to thank you all a ton for checking in with us, keeping up to date on what we've been doing all summer.  We are definitely not winding down anytime soon -- so keep coming back!  As for us, we gotta get this biodiesel-powered bus all packed up with goodies so we can hit the road -- First stop: Ames, Iowa. We're coming to get you Iowa State!

Hope to see you folks on the trail.

Signing off (for now)...

- Adam

This is great you guys. Music venues draw large crowds, so the impact you can have in one place at one time is immense. What's more, it raises awareness and if fans take that with them after a concert, the impact can continue indefinitely in other areas of their lives. Reducing trash waste at concerts can also save the venues precious funds that would otherwise be spent on clean-up. So the venues should want to partner up with the effort - and maybe even beat out their less green-propoting competitors.

Bands rendering the hottest songs to the music lovers really give color and life to music industry. It is a nice adventure to be in a battle of the band affair like what will be happening in Michigan. Some people are thinking of getting payday loans to head to Rothbury this year. Rothbury is an annual music festival in Rothbury, Michigan on the fourth of July. Rothbury 2009 looks like it is definitely gong to be worth the trip, but it is on the expensive side. You get tickets plus access to campgrounds for over $100 a person. The venue is a large open area, complete with swimming hole nearby and a diverse array of musical acts, just a few of which may be worth the price of admission. Some of this year's musicians are Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, and the Dead (living remnants of the Grateful Dead). It promises to be one heck of an event in this year.

The music festival & conference I work for is also going green this year with recycling, an eco-village for education and vendors, and a Yoga conference that will be going on at the same time as our music conference. Check out www.dfest.com for all the details - we just announced Tuesday that one of our headliners will be the Black Crowes! I hope you can all make it out this summer!!!
