I joined Change Agents after moving to Nicaragua and discovering La Chureca. This is a trash dump home to over 1,500 people. I was working on a marketing project for a resort in Managua, Nicaragua to help make the resort more eco-friendly. While researching local recycling centers I discovered that recycling has caused a war among these people who lived off of the recyclables they found in the trash dump. I began researching this place and was completely changed. Everything happens in our lives for a reason, and I immediatly knew I was not sent to Nicaragua for this marketing job, but instead to discover these people's story and to help make a stand for this cause. I have been apart of several causes in my life, but have never felt the power of myself pulled from my soul.
